12 students in Brisbane court over egging incident

A dozen Year 12 students have been charged with wilful damage, trespass and wilfully disturbing the good order or management of a state educational institution after "egging" a Brisbane school during muck-up day celebrations.

The students faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday over the incident at Wavell Heights State School, which saw a student and teacher get "egged".

But the parents and students have said the matter should not have ended up in court, according to the Courier Mail.

"I'm still worried now I don't want this to affect me later on," said one of the students outside the court. "It was just a bit of fun, we didn't mean to hurt anyone. I know I did something wrong, so there's no point trying to hide it."

The matter has been adjourned until January 29, pending whether the school agrees to mediation.
