A NSW high school has banned girls from wearing short skirts and other revealing clothing.

According the Newcastle Herald, Northlakes High near Lake Macquarie has told students not to wear skirts above the "fingertips" guideline.

‘‘The choice of uniform and application of a school’s uniform policy is a matter for each school and its community,’’ a department spokesman told the paper. ‘‘The Northlakes High School community is keen for students to adhere to prescribed uniform designs, which include items such as shirts, shorts, skirts and trousers."
