A father is threatening to sue to a state high school on the Queensland Sunshine Coast for negligence, after claiming it failed to adequately discipline a group of students who allegedly "gang bashed" his 11-year-old son, according to the Caboolture News.
The father said his son was "set upon by five to six students" the school last Wednesday and had since been relocated to another school.
Department of Education, Training and Employment Regional Director North Coast Greg Peach said: "An investigation was conducted and every effort was made to come to a mutually agreeable outcome."
"Appropriate disciplinary action has been taken in line with the school's Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students."
However, the father has claimed one of the alleged attackers "who admitted to punching Sam in the head got off scot-free".
"There is no consistency in the school's approach. I can't express how disgusted I am at the school," he said.
