The [QkR](http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/mobile-phone-payment-plan-could-spell-end-for-cash-school-lunches/story-fni0fiyv-1226740525749) system lets parents order their child’s lunch from the school canteen menu in advance, or pay for other school expenses, through a mobile phone application linked to a credit or debit card. Eight Victorian schools are part of the world-first pilot of the cashless system, which could be rolled out to other schools if successful. One benefit the system offers schools is reduced administration and cash handling.
